How much does a custom rifle cost in NZ?

A complete custom hunting rifle with a Nightforce scope and suppressor typically comes to about $8,000 to $14,000, and precision chassis rifles go higher. The builder above shows your exact price as you choose each part.

How accurate is the price?

True-Flite barrels, gunsmithing, Cerakote and Nightforce optics use our current prices. Stocks, chassis, triggers, suppressors and bipods use current NZ retail prices, and some show a from price that depends on colour or inlet. We confirm exact parts and price with your quote before anything is ordered.

What happens after I send my build?

Anthony checks that the parts work together and confirms the price and lead time, usually within one working day. Nothing is charged online. A 50% deposit confirms your build slot, and most builds take 6–8 weeks depending on parts.

Can I order from anywhere in New Zealand?

Yes. We build for hunters and shooters all over New Zealand, from Auckland to Invercargill. Collect from our Gisborne workshop or we send it by dealer-to-dealer transfer to a licensed dealer near you.

What is a donor rifle?

For Tikka, Remington and Sako builds we start from a new factory rifle and use its action, bolt and trigger. Howa builds start from a barrelled action, and Impact and Pristine builds use a new custom action. Donor prices are based on the cheapest current NZ price we could find, and we confirm them with your quote.

Can I price an upgrade to my own rifle?

Yes. Choose Upgrade my rifle. We fit a True-Flite barrel and any new parts you pick, and you can keep your stock, trigger or scope.

Is the weight accurate?

It is an estimate from typical part weights and our calculated barrel weight. Your finished rifle will be close, and we will tell you if a combination is heavier than expected.

What if the part I want is not listed?

Choose Other and tell us what you want. We source most chassis, stocks, triggers, suppressors and optics. For rimfire, big magnums and one-off projects, use the custom rifle enquiry.

Do I need a firearms licence?

Yes. Complete rifles are supplied to NZ firearms licence holders only, collected in Gisborne or by dealer-to-dealer transfer.
