Calculated, not weighed. Weights are calculated from each published contour for an unfluted 416R stainless blank with a .30-calibre bore, at a density of 7.75 g/cm³ (0.280 lb/in³). Contours are drawn to scale in true proportion.
Your finished barrel may differ with the actual profile, length, calibre, chamber, fitting and finish. These estimates are not a validated tolerance, fit assessment or competition weight certification.

Where the Knox, radius and taper sit
The original drawing identifies B as the straight Knox length. The curved radius follows that section, with C marking the diameter where the long taper begins. The drawing does not specify the radius or the length of that transition. The interactive previews are illustrative. The A–E diagram above the dimension tables shows how to read the catalogue labels; it is also not to scale.

How were the weight estimates prepared?
Each profile is built from the published dimensions: the maximum knox diameter A over knox length B, a smooth shoulder down to the taper-start diameter C, then a straight taper to the muzzle diameter E at the finished length. Shoulder lengths are 63.5 mm up to No. 3, 76.2 mm for No. 4, No. 5 and Varmint, and 101.6 mm for the target contours. Straight-taper profiles run straight from the end of the knox to the muzzle.
The steel volume is integrated along the barrel, the .30-calibre bore is removed, and the result is multiplied by 416R density, 7.75 g/cm³. Chambering, threads, crowning and fluting are not modelled; they all reduce the finished weight. Benchrest and 50 Calibre profiles are made to order, so no weight is shown.
Are these previews scale drawings?
Yes. Each contour is drawn in true proportion at 34 inches, with diameter and length on the same scale, and labelled with its A, C and E diameters and segment lengths in millimetres. The shoulder curve is our standard production transition.
